  • Waxing

Please take note of the waxing treatment you book, in particular for bikini and intimate waxing as further charges may be added upon completion if you have booked incorrectly and the treatment may not be able to proceed if there is not enough time available.

    Pre Wax advice

Exfoliate and moisturise your skin to remove dead skin cells and maintain optimum skin condition

If you are booked for a wax treatment to the face and are using anti-aging creams containing a retinoid, or acne creams such as retinol, please discuss with the therapist prior to booking.

    After Care

Please note, after waxing treatments to the face, do not apply makeup for 24 hours post treatment to allow sufficient time for the pores to close and to prevent any cause for irritation. Avoid tanning products for at least 48 hours as these are not as easily removed from the skin if irritation occurs.

Wear loose clothing, avoid heat sources such as baths, showers, gyms, saunas and direct sunlight etc. Post waxed skin may be red and sensitive, so the area must remain clean and try not to scratch it if irritated. Applying a post wax lotion can help to soothe skin if required.

If you have any concerns please do not hesitate to contact your therapist.

    Pre- Treatment Advice

Prior to your tan exfoliate your skin to remove the dead skin cells. Moisturise daily to improve dry patches and optimum condition of your skin

Avoid skin care products with a high oil content as this may cause a barrier between your skin and tan

Hair removal - shaving should be completed at least 24 hours prior to treatment and waxing at least 48 hours prior.

Do not attend for your appointment wearing any products such as makeup, deodorant or perfume and it is advised not to apply these up to 6 hours prior

We advise you attend in loose, dark clothing to avoid any transfer of tan marking your best clothes. Do not wear your best underwear if you are keeping it on to be tanned as this will be stained and we do offer disposable thongs

    After Care Advice

Do not shower until 12 hours post tan. When in the shower allow the water to run over your body and rinse the excess tan away. Pat dry, do not rub.

Do not use exfoliating products until the tan starts to fade and then lightly exfoliate to keep the tan looking even as reduces.

Avoid itching and rubbing if possible

Gentle daily moisturising will help prolong the fresh look to your tan, though be sure not to over rub and cause streaking in the initial two days

Avoid excessive exercise as sweating will streak your tan prior to your first shower

Your spray tan does not contain SPF and offers no sun protection, SPF lotions are advised and can be used over the top of your tan

  • Gel Manicure

    After Care Advice

Wash hands immediately after oil based products such as moisturisers and sun creams, spilling alcohol on them, or contact with chlorine in swimming pools and hot tubs, as these products can affect the colour of the polish and cause lifting. Tanning products and some foods can also stain the polish, so gloves may add some protection from this.

Daily use of cuticle oil will help to nourish nails and promote growth.

Take care with your nails and do not use them to pick open cans and tins. Using them as tools affects the longevity of the polish.

Do not attempt to remove the polish by picking and peeling as this will affect the condition of your natural nail underneath. For best results book a removal treatment in the salon.

Return for regular professional manicure/ polish removal treatment every 2- 3 weeks.

If you have any concerns please do not hesitate to contact your therapist.

Wash your lashes daily using lash cleanser, after initial 24 hours.

Avoid using cotton wool on your lashes as this can catch and leave bits behind.

Applying oil-based makeup and moisturiser to the face can affect the retention of the enhancements, no matter where it is placed on the face the oil migrates, so it is best to avoid such products.

    After Care Advice

Take care with your nails and do not use them to pick open cans and tins. Using them as tools affects the longevity of the enhancement and the condition of the natural nail underneath.

Wash hands immediately after oil based products such as moisturisers and sun creams, spilling alcohol on them, or contact with chlorine in swimming pools and hot tubs, as these products can affect the colour of the enhancement and cause lifting. Tanning products and some foods can also stain the enhancement, so gloves may add some protection from this.

Daily use of cuticle oil will help to nourish nails and promote growth.

Do not attempt to remove the nail by picking, pulling or lifting, as this will affect the condition of your natural nail underneath. For best results book a removal treatment in the salon.

Return for regular professional manicure/ removal treatment every 2- 3 weeks.

If you have any concerns please do not hesitate to contact your therapist.

Please find pre and post treatment care information below. It is important this is followed to ensure optimum treatment results.

    Skin Needling PRE CARE

It is important to maintain the health of skin by following a daily skin care routine, cleasning, toning and moisturising skin daily.

SPF is to be worn daily to ensure protection from the sun and that skin is not damaged or compromised prior to treatment.

At least 7-14 days prior to treatment, it is recommended you follow a Clinicare home care routine to keep skin in optimum condition, get the best out of the treatment and maintain good skin care post treatment. Please speak with Lorraine to discuss this.

For 2 weeks prior to treatment avoid sun exposure, retinol and retinoid products. Maintain daily SPF use.

If you are taking prescribed steroid or acne medication (Tazorac, Roaccutane etc) speak to your GP as you may be unsuitable for treatment for up to 6 months from cessation.

Allow 7 days to pass between previous superficial peel treatment and dermaplaning

    Allow 7 days post waxing/threading

Allow 14 days post botox and dermal fillers, laser treatments (Including photo facials) and other exfoliating facials and treatments (microdermabrasion).

Allow 6 weeks from micropigmentation procedures.

Allow 14 days since taking anti-biotics

Avoid alcohol and caffeine for 12 hours prior to treatment

If you have a history or facial herpes you may wish to have your medication ready in case you have a breakout after the treatment.

If you are unsure if you are suitable for this treatment, please do not hesitate to contact me. The information above is a guide and a consultation prior to treatment commencement will take place, but please, if you have any questions prior to booking, ask.

    Skin Needling - AFTER CARE

Your skin will remain red and may feel warmer and tighter than usual, resembling sunburn for 24-36 hours. Redness and inflammation will usually reduce by 50% within 1 to 2 hours post treatment, remaining slightly red the following day. Each individual is different, so bare this in mind for around 24-36 hours.

Avoid touching the treated area to keep this clean and dry.

Avoid excessive heat such as hot baths, steam rooms and exercise, for 24 hours and until the erythema has subsided to avoid heating the skin and causing further inflammation.

Avoid washing hair for 6 hours post epidermal and 12 hours post dermal treatment.

Avoid at home exfoliation for 1 week following treatment.

Men should avoid shaving until the erythema has subsided. Avoid waxing or depilation creams for at least 7 days post treatment.

Mineral makeup only may be applied 24 hours post treatment.

Only used advised products and control tactics post treatment to ensure the skin is correctly treated and avoid reactions. I would recommend Dermocorrective SPF50 cream which provides fast relief and regeneration of irritated skin whilst also offering sun protection and Clinicare Cosmeceutical formula EGF Pure Soothing sheet mask, which is specially developed to give intensive relief, rejuvenation and hydration. Both are available to purchase from The Pamper Box.

Applying SPF every morning will offer UV protection to your skin daily and promote lasting results of your treatment.

Do not touch the treated area. Do not use any heat treatments (sunbed, sauna, hot face washes). Avoid excessive exercise and sweating. Avoid sun exposure. Avoid any abrasive exfoliating products for at least 48 hours. Maintain daily SPF Use. If your treatment is in summer months, wearing a hat to cover the face when in the sunlight may be beneficial

It is common to experience an outbreak of spots after treatment, don’t be deterred by this, this is positive as its shows the process of cell renewal and older cells moving to the surface to shed. Maintain a healthy skin care routine moving forward, moisturise daily particularly as you may be feeling dry initially after the peel

Do not have any other facial treatment for two weeks post treatment unless, as discussed with practitioner, this is part of a treatment plan.

Avoid glycolic acids, Vitamin C, Tretinoin (Retin-A), and Retinol creams for 7 to 10 days.

Do not engage in hair removal for two weeks as the skin is compromised and may cause damage from waxing, threading, epilating creams etc

Refrain from using any retinoids, Vitamin A or C products for 2 weeks

This procedure can stimulate cold sores.  Seek medical advice as you typically would and advise your doctor of the date of your peel in case this affects medications.

If itching is persistent, petroleum jelly may ease this for up to 24 hours. Cool compress may ease any warming sensation. Only used advised products and control tactics post treatment to ensure the skin is correctly treated and avoid reactions. I would recommend Dermocorrective SPF50 cream which provides fast relief and regeneration of irritated skin whilst also offering sun protection, Clinicare Cosmeceutical formula EGF Pure Soothing sheet mask, which is specially developed to give intensive relief, rejuvenation and hydration or Cebelia Extreme Care which provides an immediate cooling effect, soothes inflammation, deeply hydrates and repairs the skin.
